The school best serves students and families who value a quality education where inquiry and discovery are encouraged. Well-behaved students who are excited about learning would benefit
from our success-oriented program which provides strong academic instruction along with a wide variety of cultural and aesthetic experiences.
Kindergarten
Students who are five years old by September 1st, or the date school opens, generally experience the greatest success. This is not an absolute cut-off date since a variety of factors
influence developmental readiness. Our Kindergarten program is designed with this in mind.
First through Eighth Grades

School transcripts will be requested.

Prospective students visit the school for a day.

Students interview on visit day.
Transfer students normally score in the above average to high range on standardized tests with some individual variations. Since diversity is a founding block of the school, the
environment is appropriate and welcoming to families of any race, color, gender, ethnic origin, or sexual orientation. The population of The Discovery Center School is a reflection of the
San Francisco communities that it serves.
